Mickelson to start alongside Els

Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson In-form world number four Phil Mickelson will tee off at the Masters alongside the man immediately behind him in the rankings - Ernie Els.

The pair, who are joined in their grouping by Japanese Shingo Katayama, tee off at 1830 BST on Thursday.

Tiger Woods begins his campaign for a fifth Masters title alongside Australia's Robert Allenby and 2005 US amateur champion Edoardo Molinari.

The world number one tees off at Augusta at 1523 on Thursday.

Leading Briton Luke Donald sets out with two-time champion Jose Maria Olazabal and David Toms at 1501, while Colin Montgomerie starts at 1640.


World number two Vijay Singh, who won the 2000 Masters, will tee off with Sweden's Henrik Stenson and American Arron Oberholser at 1512.

US Open champion Michael Campbell has a 1417 start with double Masters winner Tom Watson and Irish amateur Brian McElhinney.

And Ryder Cup captains Ian Woosnam and Tom Lehman should have plenty to talk about after being drawn together in a group with South Africa's Tim Clark at 1428.
