This week the Plymouth manager voices his concerns about flaws in the Bosman ruling and who got his vote in the PFA Player of the Year award.
Plus he expresses his sympathies with clubs stuck in the relegation zone, and reveals the funniest things he has seen on the touchline.
VICTORY AT LUTON BUT NOT HAPPY WITH THE PLAYERS' PERFORMANCE
But no problems - I would've taken that result at the start of the game and for an away team we did very, very well, particularly in the first half.
"
No, no, no! We played very well - what I wasn't happy with was the scoreline. We created a lot of chances but we didn't finish 'em off.
THE BOSMAN RULING
I can't stand it. I'm resigned to losing Tony Capaldi (on a Bosman) - managers need commitment from their players.
No way should a player be allowed to run out of contract, it's ruining their lives and something should be done about it.
If you go in for a tackle and you break your leg at this time of year, you could be quite literally out of a job and unemployable.
I don't know if they think about it like that and it's disgusting.
It's not fair - unless you're an agent who wants to make a few quid by touting players around in January while the players have to worry about their livelihoods because they don't know where they are until the season finishes.
They are a waste of space for anyone managing them - how can that be right?
I think they should reverse it - has it worked? No it hasn't.
How can anyone tell me a 24-year-old deserves to walk out of a club for nothing? Take Steve Sidwell at Reading.
They've paid £500,000 to have him, why should he be allowed to go for nothing after they have worked, improved and climbed up divisions with him? It doesn't make sense.
I don't want to witness another player going through turmoil, it stops them from being happy, it's awful.
"
WHO GOT YOUR VOTE FOR PFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR?
The way he has been playing lately, absolutely outstanding.
For me, Kevin Nolan, year-in, year-out has got to be the most under-rated player ever. He's brilliant [Ed's note - he didn't mention Kevin just because he's a fellow BBC Sport website columnist, honest!].
But you don't hear too much about players like him because they're not in the fashionable teams.
Crouchy's done well. He couldn't score for ages and has gone from being 'is he good enough for Liverpool?' to playing for England.
"
It's one choice for me, Scott Sinclair...No! Ronaldo!
INVERNESS CT's WITHDRAWAL FROM THE INTERTOTO CUP BECAUSE MATCH DATES CLASH WITH AN ELTON JOHN CONCERT AT THE CALEDONIAN STADIUM
Down here we've got George Michael, Elton John and rumour is I'm going to put a wig on and be a ringer for Rod Stewart. Can't sing like him though.
"
If you're an Sir Elton John fan you've got to be absolutely delighted. He's making a right revival - fair play to him!
PUNTER'S QUESTION I
Mofo: "Hi Ollie. Fair do's on your victory at Kenilworth Road, our performance was below par. What's it like going into a game knowing you could relegate your opponents?"
To be honest you try not to think about it but it means the team you are playing become very, very dangerous opponents.
I thought Luton didn't have a good first half but showed great character to come back like they did in the second half.
They've got to try and pull it out of the fire. Unfortunately someone has to get promoted and someone has to get relegated
We've all experienced it, you try to be ultra professional when you're in our mid-table no man's land and do the best you can.
"
A relief to think you're not in their place. It's a horrendous prospect, I've had it myself so I sympathise with whoever is going through it and am just very thankful that it's not us.
PUNTER'S QUESTION II
M Weller: "Ollie, as an American, I've been growing in my appreciation of football - I've truly liked these weekly columns of yours.
That said, I'm still like most Americans and love American football. Have you seen any games? I could picture you being a tough linebacker if you'd grown up in the States."
But I have watched Waterboy - and I love it. I've never seen anybody take so many people out and sack so many full-backs in my life, so I love it.
When I was in America I watched it on TV. Luckily I was with family so they explained what was going on because it takes an awful, awful long time - but it's brilliant entertainment.
I'm really into basketball, someone gave me some Michael Jordan tapes and I've never seen anything like it. When I was a kid I loved the Harlem Globetrotters, absolutely brilliant what they did.
You can learn from other sports, but what those people shout and how those coaches work out those plays I just don't know. I can't predict where anybody's gonna go.
"
I'm not sure if I'm big enough to be a linebacker - those pads would dwarf me.
PUNTER'S QUESTION III
Up The Iron: "Hi Ollie, what's the funniest thing that you've ever seen/heard a manager do or say on the touchline?"
We hadn't won away from home and 10 minutes into the game and we're 3-0 up, it was unbelievable.
Anyway the ball goes out as someone's injured so he's getting some treatment when the manager screams out of his dug-out: "Oi! Lads! It's 10 PAST 3 not 10 TO 3! Sort your lives out!"
I can't remember his name, a dark-haired fellow with a tash - absolute card. Everybody fell about in the crowd, they were giving 'em some stick too. Billy something I think.
There was another time at Fulham when I was at Rovers again. We were 4-0 up and someone's injured when someone in the crowd shouts: "Don't just stand there Fulham - practise!"
That was an absolute classic.
Another one involved Gary Penrice, who was my centre-forward at Rovers. There were rumours about him in the press about him going for £500,000, which was a lot of money back in those days.
We're out warming up away at Preston when this bloke shouts out: 'Oi Penrice! Thou's a midget! Thou's a midget son!'
And Gary's a fiery little character and he says 'You what?' And the bloke in the crowd says 'Thou must be a midget gem nose son! £500,000 for a midget? Thou must be a midget gem son!'
Brilliant!
"
It goes back to my Bristol Rovers days when I was a player. We played Chesterfield away and they had a wonderful manager, can't remember his name though.
