South Korea name World Cup squad

English-based duo Park Ji-Sung and Lee Young-Pyo have been named in South Korea's 23-man World Cup squad.

Manchester United midfielder Park and Tottenham left-back Lee are joined by Wolves striker Seol Ki-Hyeon.

Park is one of 10 veterans who helped the Koreans reach the last four in 2002 and the most notable absentee is injured striker Lee Dong-Gook.

"We've a very balanced squad which can surprise a lot of people in the world," said Dutch-born coach Dick Advocaat.

"We showed in the past that we can do something.

"We still are in a very difficult group with France, Togo and Switzerland, but we are capable of making at least the second round and from that moment everything is possible."


Goalkeepers: Lee Woon-Jae (Suwon Bluewings), Kim Yong-Dae (Seongnam Ilwha), Kim Young-Kwang (Chunnam Dragons)
