The Gunners, who started their season late due to having players on England duty at the World Cup finals in China, continued their relentless rise up the table.
Jayne Ludlow, Lianne Sanderson and Chapman all scored in the opening half-hour.
After the break Ciara Grant added the fourth goal before Sanderson bagged her second of the evening and Chapman completed her hat-trick.
Arsenal have won each of their six League games to date while Charlton have lost all 10 of theirs and are rooted firmly to the foot of the table.
Chelsea 4-3 Watford
Ellen White gave Chelsea an early lead, but by the interval Watford were 2-1 in front through Ashlee Hincks and Helen Lander.
