Yeovil sign goalkeeper Wagenaar
Yeovil Town have signed Canadian international goalkeeper Josh Wagenaar on a one-year contract, after a successful trial spell.
Once-capped Wagenaar, 23, has played for ADO Den Haag and Lyngby since moving to Europe in 2006.
"It's a bit of a dream come true. As a footballer, England is where you want to be," he told BBC Somerset.
"I want to be the number one and hopefully I can prove to [manager] Russell [Slade] that I deserve that."
Wagenaar will be competing for the keeper's jersey with fellow Canadian Asmir Begovic, who joined the Glovers on loan from Portsmouth last week.
"On the field it's going to be a battle between the two of us, we've played together a lot for the Canada under-20 national team.
"Off the field we have a good friendship but on the field you have to put your best foot forward," he said.
Wagenaar hopes that his move to Huish Park will lead to opportunities to add to his single international appearance, which was against Hungary in 2006.
"We're just heading into some more qualifying games and so if I'm playing here maybe I can get a game or two.
"It would be nice to continue my involvement with the national team, even if it's just on the bench," he added.
