Wigan have secured the services of defenders Titus Bramble and Emmerson Boyce on new deals running until 2012.

Bramble, 27, had been linked with a move following ex-Latics manager Steve Bruce to Sunderland but has decided to stay under new boss Roberto Martinez.

"Both are at a great moment in their careers and I think they're best years are still to come," Martinez told the club's website.

"We're very lucky to have players of that calibre."

Bramble was in impressive form last season as, under Bruce, he overcame the lapses in concentration and mistakes that have blighted his career.

He was voted the club's player of the season.

" Hopefully this means our defensive strength from last year will continue "

"I've been really happy here, and I feel really settled," said Bramble.

"I never wanted to go anywhere else and I'm really looking forward to the new season. These are exciting times for the club and I'm glad to be a part of it."

Boyce, 29, who joined the Latics from Crystal Palace in 2006, added: "I've been impressed with the new manager and he has brought a lot of energy into the club with him.

"Swansea received a lot of plaudits last season about how well they played and you can only assume he wants to bring that style of play to Wigan - I'm really happy to be a part of it."
