Robinson 'keen on Wigan switch'
Wigan boss Chris Hutchings is confident West Brom left-back Paul Robinson wants to join the Latics.
Robinson, 28, is believed to have undergone a medical at Wigan on Monday, with a view to a £1.5m move.
Hutchings told the Manchester Evening News: "He has shown a hunger for this club and is keen to come on board.
"He is a very good player, a tenacious full-back, with plenty of experience, and left-back is the only position we haven't got cover for."
Hutchings insists that Robinson is being signed to compete with Leighton Baines for the left-back berth, although the Latics are fighting off interest from Everton for their England Under-21 defender.

Wigan accepted a £6m bid from Sunderland for Baines but have turned down a bid from Everton of £4m, plus a £2m-rated player.
Hutchings added: "we need another left-back as we've been playing Kevin Kilbane there as a stop-gap."
