Pavlyuchenko to demand Spurs exit

Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko plans talks with manager Harry Redknapp and is expected to demand a transfer.

The 27-year-old joined Tottenham from Spartak Moscow for £14m in August 2008 but has been out of favour this term, and also left out of the Russia side.

"I want to leave the club," he told Russia's Sport Express newspaper. "It is impossible to remain there.

"I've been on the bench and as a result lost a place in the national team. I want to play, not just warm the bench."

Pavlyuchenko has made only six appearances in all competitions for Spurs this term, scoring once in the Carling Cup, with Redknapp preferring the combination of captain Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe.

With England striker Peter Crouch the first reserve up front, chances appear for limited for the Russian, who said: "Our manager does not talk to me on the matter.

" We all know, whether Harry says it or not, he doesn't rate/want him, so Pav knows he won't get a decent run in the team "

"At the start of the season our manager said that four forwards is exactly the optimal number, but now he states that three is enough.

"And I am the fourth one so it is obvious that I should part with the club."

Pavlyuchenko is in the Russia squad for the opening game of their World Cup play-off against Slovenia in Moscow on Saturday and plans to meet Redknapp with his agent afterwards.

"The only thing that can stand in the way is unmanageable price. But I will insist on leaving," he said.

"The important thing now is to reach a compromise that will be suitable for the club and me, and my future club."
