Local boy Joe Allen is hoping he can be the hero at the second attempt in Saturday's south Wales derby.
The Swansea midfielder thought he had scored a late winner in April's derby at Ninian Park only to be denied by a controversial Cardiff penalty.
It was 19-year-old Allen's first senior goal for the club, but the 2-2 draw has only made him more hungry for success.
"Hopefully after that, the luck will be on our side this time," said Narbeth-born Allen.
"You saw from the celebration how I felt, how much it meant and I thought that late on it might be the winner away from home at the last Ninian Park derby.
"I think everyone knows the disappointment of the result, to end up coming away with a point."
Wales international Allen is among just a handful of players born and bred in south Wales set to be involved in Saturday's sell-out at the Liberty Stadium.
Cardiff have midfielder Joe Ledley playing for his hometown team while his Bluebirds team-mate Adam Matthews is from Swansea.
But Allen, who has only made three appearances this season due to injury, does not believe this will make the derby any less special.
"I'm very proud to be playing in this kind of game, being from south Wales in a south Wales derby," he said.
"One thing you noticed last year is that no matter where the players come from, they all seem to give the same spirit as any Welsh player so it's guaranteed to be an exciting game.
"It's good to have rivalry, especially for the supporters as it's probably their biggest day out and biggest game of the season.
"But at the same time we are still playing for the same thing. We are playing for three points, it's another league game and that's one of the ways we are going to have to approach it."
Saturday's highly anticipated derby will see the Championship's top scorers Cardiff trying to unlock the second meanest defence in the division.

Swansea, who are enjoying the Championship's best run - nine unbeaten - have conceded just 10 goals this season, which has helped lift them to 11th in the table.
But they have scored just 11 times in their 15 league outings compared to Cardiff's 31, which seen the Bluebirds climb to third in the Championship.
And Allen believes this will add extra spice to the fixture: "The last few weeks have built up nicely for this game.
"It will come to a bit of a climax and hopefully it will be us, and hopefully one team's run will be ended and one team's run will continue. We are confident that team will be us."
