Consistency is key says Collins
Sunderland defender Danny Collins has said his side need to find consistency if they are to improve on last season's Premier League finish of 15th.
The Black Cats were beaten 3-0 at home by Man City on Sunday but Collins hopes for a return to winning ways against Wigan a week on Saturday.
"With the quality we've added we're confident of getting a result whoever we play," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.
"We need to string results together and hopefully we can get that going."
While several players have expressed their disappointment at being delayed by the international break, Collins said he feels it will allow them to reflect on the club's progress so far.
"I don't think the break will do us any harm to be honest," he said.
"One or two of the boys are away on international duty so it will take their mind off the weekend.
"The rest of us that are here training have a few days to get the game out of our systems.
"It's going to be hurting for a few days certainly so come the next week we can get ourselves ready for the Wigan game."
