Griffin gets red card rescinded

Tony Pulis and Andy Griffin Stoke captain Andy Griffin has won his appeal against the red card he was given in Sunday's 3-0 defeat at QPR.

The full-back would have been facing a three match ban but will now be available to face Burnley on Saturday.

"Justice has been done and now I can look forward to playing on Saturday," the 28-year-old told BBC Radio Stoke.

"I was obviously very disappointed at getting the red card in the first place but it has been rescinded so all is well" added Griffin.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis asked referee Andy D'Urso straight after the game to review the challenge on Hogan Ephraim that had led to Griffin's dismissal.

"I have asked the referee to look at it again and I'm hoping he will realise he's made a mistake," he said.

"If Ephraim had the ball at his feet it would be touch and go. But he was nowhere near it - the ball was out and free.

"(Referee) Andy D'Urso didn't have the best view of it and has agreed to have a look at the video."

D'Urso subsequently admitted that he was wrong to dismiss Griffin.
