Owls fined for loan rule breach
Sheffield Wednesday have been fined £2,000 after breaking Football League rules on loan players.
The Owls named six loan players in their squad for last month's 1-1 draw with Stoke City, when the rules only allow five.
But the club escaped a points deduction after the Football League followed the precedent set in 2006 when Leeds were fined for a similar offence.
It means the Owls remain a point above the Championship's relegation zone.
