Sheffield United have signed defender Andy Taylor from Tranmere Rovers for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old left-back, who previously played for Blackburn Rovers, has won caps for England at Under-19 and Under-20 levels.
Taylor told BBC Radio Sheffield: "As soon as I heard they were interested, I just wanted to get it sorted out.
"It's mind boggling how quick it was. I was just over the moon, it all seems a bit surreal."
Blades manager Kevin Blackwell added: "Andy is still young enough to develop and we have been watching him for quite a while.
"We regarded him as one of the best left-backs outside the Premier League and we beat several other Championship clubs to his signature."
Taylor will join the rest of the United squad in flying out to Hungary on Thursday.
