Brown 'not set for Blades return'

Michael Brown

Wigan midfielder Michael Brown has played down claims he is set to return to Sheffield United.

The 31-year-old previously spent four successful years at Bramall Lane, before moving to Spurs in 2004.

He told BBC Radio Sheffield said: "There has been a link to Sheffield United. It's very flattering but it's just paper talk as usual."

Manager Kevin Blackwell said: "We have not had a dabble. He is a Premier League player and has big, big wages."

Blackwell added: "The problem is there's always speculation, and I don't think it's right to talk out of school when it's someone else's player."
