Iron struggle to keep crowds up
Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins says his team are trying their best to offset the effects of the economic downturn on their crowds.
Fewer than 5,000 fans watched the Iron's sixth win in a row against Yeovil at Glanford Park on Saturday.
Adkins told BBC Radio Humberside: "It's hard-earned cash that people have to get and hopefully we can put smiles on their faces.
"We're trying to win and provide a product that's entertaining to watch."
He added: "It's definitely value for money there's some great entertainment and some great passages of play. "
The Iron lost their first three games of the season including a 3-0 Carling Cup defeat at Hartlepool.
But they have turned their results around and now only Oldham are above them in League One.
