Millmoor deal days away - Stewart

Rotherham United

Preferred bidder Tony Stewart believes Rotherham United's future at Millmoor will be sorted in a matter of days.

The ASD Lighting managing director will be confirmed as the club's new owner this Friday.

Stewart told BBC Radio Sheffield that negotiations are continuing with Millmoor's landlords, the Booth family, and he expects a resolution soon.

He said: "I think things have to arrive to a conclusion very soon, we're talking days not weeks."

The Booth family have threatened legal action unless their existing perks, including VIP FA Cup tickets, are retained.

"Already I'm getting emails from people in Rotherham thanking me"

Stewart remains tight-lipped on the discussions with the Booth family but has not ruled out the possibility of the club leaving Millmoor.

"We will do what ever we have to do, whether it is at Millmoor or where ever it is."

The local businessman claims he is not looking to make any financial gain out the club and thinks the whole town are behind him.

"The excitement and the appreciation, already I'm getting emails from people in Rotherham thanking me."
