Coppell promised Reading warchest
Reading boss Steve Coppell has been promised money to spend on new players during the January transfer window.
The Royals currently lie 13th in the Premier League, having won four games.
"We'd like to add some new faces - our message is Reading has the potential to grow," said Royals director of football Nick Hammond.
"We have the finances to meet the transfer fees and wage demands if the right players are available and want to come to Reading."
Hammond added: "No specific budget has been set, but make no mistake, we will be in the mix when it comes to the players we think will improve us."
