Sonko sidelined following knee op
Reading defender Ibrahima Sonko is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery to repair damaged cartilage in his knee.
The Senegal centre-back fell awkwardly during the Royals' 3-1 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday.
A club statement said: "His progress will be monitored, but it is too early to ascertain how long he will be out."
Striker Dave Kitson is a doubt for Saturday's FA Cup tie with Birmingham after suffering a minor thigh scan.
But defender Nicky Shorey is back in full training after missing Saturday's victory with a minor bout of food poisoning.
