Old Trafford duo make Ibrox exit

Phil Bardsley Lee Martin and Phil Bardsley have returned to Manchester United after unsuccessful loan spells with Rangers.

Winger Martin, 19, made 10 appearances during an injury-hit time at Ibrox but failed to become a first-team regular.

Right-back Bardsley, 21, made seven appearances but has not featured since October, when he had a training-ground disagreement with manager Paul Le Guen.

Bardsley has agreed a deal to join Sunderland in January, while Martin is interesting Wigan and Cardiff.

Rangers decided against taking up the option to extend the loans for either player.
