Rangers cool on Wigan's Webster

Andy Webster Rangers chairman David Murray has told BBC Sport that there are no plans to bring Wigan defender Andy Webster to Ibrox - for the moment.

Murray also refused to comment on whether Rangers were interested in former Hearts captain Steven Pressley.

Webster has failed to hold down a place in the Wigan side, leading to rumours of his departure from the JJB Stadium.

However, although Murray ruled out an imminent move for Webster, he did admit to previous interest in the player.

The Ibrox chairman said: "I know we were interested in him in the past, but we are not interested at the moment.

"How could we be interested when we have no idea what the fee would be anyway?"
