Murray and Hill join Raith Rovers

Dougie Hill and Grant Murray

Raith Rovers have signed former Kilmarnock defender Grant Murray and ex-Alloa Athletic stopper Dougie Hill.

Boss John McGlynn will be hoping their arrival will compensate for the loss of Marvin Andrews after the former Rangers centre-half rejected a new deal.

Murray and Hill impressed on trial in friendlies against Airdrie and Norwich.

Murray, 33, has signed a two-year full-time contract, while Hill, 24, has joined for in a part-time capacity on a 12-month deal.

Murray began his career with Hearts before moving on to St Johnstone, Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock.

He was released in June after three years at the Scottish Premier League club, having made only 14 appearances last season.

Hill came through the ranks with Falkirk before moving on to Alloa.

He then signed for Cowdenbeath before returning for a second spell at Recreation Park last July, making a further 32 appearances for the Second Division club.
