Johnson poised for QPR move

Richard Johnson is expected to sign for Queens Park Rangers on Monday after deciding to leave Stoke.

The former Watford midfielder's three-month contract at the Britannia Stadium has now expired and he is keen to move back to the south.

"He has done very well for us and is a tremendous professional both on and off the field," said Stoke director of football John Rudge.

"He wants to move south to be closer to his home and family."

Meanwhile, former QPR striker Peter Crouch has donated £1,000 to his former club.

The Aston Villa striker, who left Loftus Road in 2001, has given the cash to Our QPR, a fund-raising scheme recently set up by fans.
