Johnson signs new Portsmouth deal
Portsmouth defender Glen Johnson has signed a new four-and-a-half year contract with the club.
The 24-year-old right-back, who arrived at Fratton Park from Chelsea initially on loan in the summer of 2006, has committed himself to Pompey until 2013.
Manager Tony Adams told the club's website: "I am delighted to have him here. I want him here for a long time.
"Glen has applied himself very well - he has been very good for this club and this club has been very good for him."
Johnson agreed to the deal after a move to Liverpool reportedly fell through, ensuring he will not follow Jermain Defoe and Lassana Diarra out of the club.

He has made 83 appearances since arriving at Portsmouth, and is now a regular in Fabio Capello's England squads.
Since making his England debut in November 2003, he has made 10 appearances - half of them under Capello in 2008 after almost three years out of the team.
Pompey executive chairman Peter Storrie told the club's website: "In my opinion Glen is the best right-back in the country and this sends out a strong message that top quality players want to play for this club."
