James signs new Pompey contract
England goalkeeper David James has extended his deal with Portsmouth until the end of the 2009-10 season.
The 37-year-old is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career and has been instrumental in the south coast club's progress to the FA Cup semi-finals.
James joined Portsmouth from Manchester City for £1.2m in August 2006.
"I'm enjoying it at Pompey - it's a fantastic environment. I never envisaged the club being in this position when I joined," he told PfcTV.

Give us your thoughts on David James's longevity
The former Liverpool and Aston Villa keeper has made some spectacular saves during Pompey's march to the last four of the FA Cup, while he has also helped establish the club as a top-half Premier League side.
His form was rewarded by new England coach Fabio Capello who picked the veteran for last month's friendly against Switzerland despite the claims of several younger goalkeepers.
James, who has won 36 caps since making his England debut under Glenn Hoddle 11 years ago, has an option for a further extension in 2010.
He is the oldest first-choice goalkeeper in the Premier League with Arsenal's Jens Lehmann and Fulham's Kasey Keller, both second-choice keepers at their respective clubs, nine months older.
James also holds the Premier League record for the most clean sheets after overtaking David Seaman's mark of 141 last year.
