Youngster McCrory joins Valiants
Versatile Damien McCrory has joined League Two side Port Vale on a one-month loan from Plymouth Argyle.
The 18-year-old, who can play at left-back, becomes new manager Dean Glover's first signing and will go straight into the squad for the trip to Shrewsbury.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I'm looking forward to the month's loan. Hopefully I can be an influence to the team and do well over the month."
McCrory has represented the Republic of Ireland at under-18 level.
He added: "I'll take the month first and if there is [the option of staying for a second month] I'll be happy to extend that but we'll see what happens.
"First-team experience is vital so hopefully I can get some here and go back to Plymouth and be even stronger and get my place there soon enough."
