Zakuani happy as 'Mr Invincible'

Gabby Zakuani

Peterborough United defender Gabby Zakuani says he is eager to hang on to his "Mr Invincible" tag.

The 21-year-old has yet to lose in a Posh shirt since making the move to London Road from Fulham in September.

Zakuani told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'd like to think our recent form has been down to my arrival, but it could just be coincidence.

"The whole team has to take credit for the long unbeaten run and I'm just happy not to have lost in a long time."

Peterborough have only lost once in League One since late August.

That defeat came at Leicester in one of three matches Zakuani missed in the period between his loan move expiring and a permanent transfer going through on 1 January.

Zakuani made his return to the side in Saturday's FA Cup tie with West Brom.

"I think I was quite missed, but the boys did well - we had three games and won two of them," he said.

The form of Zakuani has forced fellow defender Chris Westwood to leave the club on loan in search of first-team football.

But DR Congo international Zakuani expects Westwood to be back challenging for a place in the Posh first 11 when his loan spell at Cheltenham comes to an end.

"Westwood was great competition. It shows how well Craig Morgan and I have been doing that he's moved, but it will do him the world of good to get some games," he said.
