Peterborough United forward Danny Crow has played down the possibility of a loan move to rivals Cambridge United.
Crow has been deemed surplus to requirements at London Road, but the former Norwich trainee is reluctant to drop into non-league.
"I'm not saying I'd ever say no or anything like that because I know Cambridge are a good club," Crow told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"But obviously a League One or League Two club would be really ideal."
Crow, who joined Posh from Norwich in 2005 and was the club's top scorer in his first season at London Road with 17 goals, has fallen out of favour under manager Darren Ferguson.
He spent much of last season on loan at Notts County and whilst he admits there are a lot of quality players now plying their trade in the non-league, he is hopeful of securing a move to a League club.
"I'd never say I wouldn't go on loan to a Conference team, but ideally I wouldn't want to," he said.
Ideally Crow would like a permanent move to a League Two side, but accepts he may have to review his options if he is still looking for a club come the end of August.
"I've got another year and it's a good contract [at Peterborough], there's been a couple of clubs [interested] but they can't offer the same deal," he added.
"As it comes more towards August I'll have to assess the situation and see what happens."
