Hyde to make amends at Hereford

Peterborough United captain Micah Hyde (FCPix)

Peterborough United captain Micah Hyde has promised to make up for defeat against Stockport by helping Posh to promotion at Hereford on Saturday.

Hyde was disappointed that his return to the starting line-up coincided with the side's first defeat in 18 matches.

He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'm very determined because I came back in to the team and we lost.

"I've been promoted a couple of times now in my career and it is a really good feeling."

Hyde has also called on the less experienced Peterborough players to keep focused on reaching their goal.

"These are the times the senior players need to step up and bring the younger ones through"

The 33-year-old said: "The young players need to keep their nerve at this stage of the season.

"I'll try to relay that across to them and if we get promoted it will be good for them because they can take it on to further their careers."

Before the 1-0 defeat against Stockport, Hyde had started the previous three matches on the bench but now hopes to play a key role in the final three games.

"I would like to think every player's got a crucial role to play but as the captain mine is even more so," he said.

"I've got experience like [Dean] Keates and [Chris] Westwood of winning promotion so these are the times the senior players need to step up and bring the younger ones through."
