Notts County have taken former Portugal and Juventus defender Jorge Andrade on trial, reports BBC Radio Nottingham.
The 31-year-old, who has also played for Deportivo La Coruna and Porto, has been training with the League Two side and hopes to secure a permanent deal.
Andrade is currently a free agent but is eager to get back playing again following a serious knee injury.
Notts have been eager to bring in an experienced defender since the high-profile departure of Sol Campbell.
The former Arsenal, Tottenham and England defender left the club after playing just one game.
