Magpies coach role for Calderwood
Newcastle United have appointed former Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood as a coach until the end of the season.
Calderwood, 44, was dismissed by Forest in December.
Last season, he led the East Midlands club to promotion from League One and had previously taken Northampton Town into League One via the play-offs.
As a player, he served under current Magpies assistant manager Chris Hughton at Tottenham.
The former Scotland international also played for Swindon, Aston Villa and Forest.
He won 36 caps for his country, and appeared at Euro 96 in England and the 1998 World Cup in France.
