Well snap up Eircom League trio

Danny Murphy, Paul Keegan and Trevor Molloy Motherwell have completed the signing for three players from the Eircom League in Ireland.

And the trio have received international clearance in time to play against Rangers in the Scottish Premier League on Tuesday.

Left-back Danny Murphy, 23, has signed from Cork City until 2009.

Striker Trevor Molloy, 30, and midfielder Paul Keegan, 33, have both joined from St Patrick's Athletic on 18-month contracts.

Reports suggest that the deal for Molloy could eventually earn St Pat's up to £100,000.

St Pat's boss John McDonnell had said earlier: "We would not stand in Trevor Molloy's way as he is now 30 and he departs for Motherwell with our best wishes.

"A fee has been agreed as he still had a year to run."

Keegan had wanted to move to Scotland for domestic reasons.

St Pat's domestic season had ended with a 4-3 defeat by Derry City in the FAI Cup final.

Meanwhile, striker Calum Elliot has returned to Hearts at the end of his loan deal with Motherwell.

The 19-year-old made 17 appearances for Well, scoring twice.
