Hart signs new Man City contract
Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has signed a new five-year contract.
Since joining City two years ago Hart has established himself as the club's first-choice keeper.
The 21-year-old England international joined City from Shrewsbury in 2006 for an initial fee of £600,000 in a deal that could cost the club £1.5m.
"Securing the services of one of the most promising keepers in the country was key to what we are doing here," said City manager Mark Hughes.
Hart has won one cap for England making his international debut under coach Fabio Capello in the friendly against Trinidad & Tobago in June.
Hart came on as a half-time substitute for David James, but he is now back with the England Under-21 squad, under the guidance of Stuart Pearce, the former City manager who brought him to Eastlands.
Hart is likely to be part of Pearce's squad for next summer's European Championship finals in Sweden.
