Paul Hegarty has been confirmed as the new manager of Livingston.
Hegarty, 54, replaces Roberto Landi, who was sacked by the Almondvale club on Monday.
"I am pleased to be here," Hegarty told the club's official website. "There is a good infrastructure at the club, a great set-up and a lovely stadium.
"I am here on an 18-month contract and within that time I want to get the club to the SPL. It is time for this club to be back there."
Former Dundee United and Aberdeen boss Hegarty has was assistant manager at Motherwell during Maurice Malpas' Fir Park reign and more recently worked with the Scottish FA.
Livingston parted company with Roberto Landi following the First Division side's Scottish Cup exit at the hands of East Stirlingshire.
"What really enticed me was that I knew the club already. And of course, I was here when the club won the League Cup"The side currently sit fifth in the table, six points behind leaders St Johnstone.
"The club are in a healthy position on the park," added Hegarty.
"They may have had a few bad results over recent weeks but that happens throughout the season.
"I just hope that I can het them back to the winning ways they had at the start of the season.
"I have seen the team play a few times this season in a previous capacity and I know a bit about the squad. There is a good squad here.
"If they were winning games at the start of the season, there is no reason why they can't start winning again.

Former Scotland international Hegarty spent most of his playing career with United and also had spells at Hamilton and St Johnstone.
He was player-manager of Forfar from 1990-92 before his caretaker manager's posts at Pittodrie in 1999 and Tannadice between 2002 and 2003.
Hegarty has previously held a coaching position at Livingston and has also worked with Hearts and Dunfermline.
"I got the call from the chairman about the job and I was immediately interested," he said.
"What really enticed me was that I knew the club already and I know (Livingston consultant) Davie Hay.
"And of course, I was here when the club won the League Cup."
