Steele set for hernia operation

Leyton Orient striker Lee Steele is to undergo a hernia operation next week which will sideline him until November.

Steele, 31, was the O's top-scorer with 16 League Two goals last season but has not found the net so far this campaign.

"The problem has escalated quickly in recent weeks and people who have seen him play will know he's not been fully fit," O's boss Martin Ling said.

"It's a blow to lose him but with Jabo Ibehre coming back last week I've still got three strikers to choose from."
