Leicester City have signed French winger Dany N'Guessan from Lincoln City on a three-year deal.
The 21-year-old is a product of the Auxerre youth academy, and played for Rangers for two years before joining Lincoln in January 2007.
Foxes manager Nigel Pearson said: "Dany is an extremely exciting prospect.
"He impressed us during our home game against Lincoln in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last season as he is a versatile and talented player."
N'Guessan is about to be out of contract, and as the player is under 24 and had rejected a new deal, the Foxes will have to pay compensation.
The amount payable to the Imps is currently being negotiated - but if no agreement can be reached between the clubs, it will go to a tribunal.
Pearson added: "We are certain that the addition of Dany will heighten competition for places, and with his potential to improve he has a bright future in the game."
