Premiership strugglers Leicester City have signed Derby striker Lee Morris for a nominal fee.
The Rams forward has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal, subject to a medical later on Monday.
The former England Under-21 international moved to Derby in October 1999 from Sheffield United for £3m.
The 23-year-old forward has scored 17 times in 60 league appearances at Pride Park but has recently been overlooked by manager George Burley.
Leicester boss Micky Adams had to fight off competition from Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock, who last week had been confident of signing the former Blades player.
"Lee fits into our price range but he has also got age on his side and has a bit of potential," said Morris.
"I think we can improve him. We showed that with Paul Dickov and Lee has a very similar reputation of not being a natural finisher.
"We hope we can bring that out of him like we have with Paul.
"Lee is a centre forward. He can play out wide but he likes to operate down the middle and has got lightening pace.
"We are trying to get in younger players after adopting the other policy at the start of the season. We've have already brought in one with Peter Canero and Lee is of the same age group."
