Walters poised for knee operation
Ipswich Town striker Jon Walters will undergo knee surgery on Wednesday and will be out for at least six weeks.
Walters, 24, has been struggling for weeks and will have an operation to repair a cartilage problem.
Town physio Matt Byard told the club website: "The specialist wanted to give Jon the weekend to see if the knee showed any sign of settling down.
"As we expected there has been no improvement. We will have more idea of return date after the operation."
Town had steered clear of major injuries so far this season, but began Saturday's match against Charlton without Walters and Richard Naylor.
Naylor's slipped disc in his neck has flared up again and the injury will be re-assessed at the end of a week's rest.
