Scottish club Aberdeen have agreed to play Hull City in Dean Windass's testimonial game.
The 40-year-old played 92 games for the Dons scoring 29 goals after moving there from East Yorkshire in 1995.
Windass told BBC Radio Humberside: "To hear today that it's Aberdeen and two sets of fans that are quite close to me, I couldn't have asked any more."
After the game Windass will embark on the next stage of his career as the player-coach of Darlington.
Windass played for the Tigers in three spells making 271 appearances and scoring 89 goals, including one in the Premier League against Portsmouth.
