Hull manager Brown hit by FA fine
Hull boss Phil Brown has been fined £1,000 by the Football Association and warned about his future behaviour after admitting an improper conduct charge.
The charge related to his touchline behaviour during Hull's 5-0 defeat to Wigan at the KC Stadium on 30 August.
He was alleged to have kicked a water bottle in frustration and trudged up to the stands before the referee had the chance to punish him.
The FA said it took Brown's immediate apology to the officials into account.
It added that the club have taken steps to avoid a repeat incident.
"I think the FA have been very astute in their assessment of the situation," Brown told BBC Humberside.
"The action was reckless, there's no doubt about it, but it was certainly accidental"

"They've had to reprimand me for my future conduct, which I understand and have given me a £1000 fine.
"I mitigated the circumstances with regards to the incident and fortunately it hasn't fallen on deaf ears. The action was reckless, there's no doubt about it, but it was certainly accidental.
"The manner in which I apologised and the manner in which I removed myself from the touchline I think has stood me in good stead."
Hull have so far exceeded expectations in their first year in the Premier League, and are currently sixth in the table.
Under Brown, the Tigers' have enjoyed some notable victories, including a 2-1 win at Arsenal, but the defeat to Wigan was their worst of the season.
