New contract for Hull boss Brown

Phil Brown Hull boss Phil Brown has agreed a 12-month rolling contract to continue as the club's manager.

Brown is expected to sign the deal this week and end speculation of him rejoining Sam Allardyce as the Newcastle manager's assistant.

"It is great news for us," chairman Adam Pearson told the Hull Daily Mail. "I am delighted.

"The contract is being drawn up and hopefully Phil should be signing on Tuesday or Wednesday."

Pearson added: "There are going to be some significant changes announced regarding Phil's backroom staff once Phil has signed his deal."
