Craney makes Huddersfield switch

Ian Craney

Huddersfield Town have signed Ian Craney from League Two side Accrington Stanley for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has sign a three-year-deal at the Galpharm Stadium, after completing a medical on Tuesday morning.

"I can't wait to get started and I'm a determined kind of player," Craney told the club's website.

"It's generally said that you peak at 26 so hopefully these will be the best three years of my career."

Craney added: "I know Robbo [midfielder Gary Roberts] well, he's my best friend in the game and a good friend out of it too.

"I'm glad that Gary is here as we had some great times playing together at Accrington Stanley, hopefully we can rekindle that.

"He basically sold the club to me as he loves it, so I'm hoping I can replicate the good start that he has made here."

The former Everton junior is Town manager Stan Ternent's ninth signing since his arrival at the club in the summer.

And Ternent added: "He gives us more competition for players and is a player I have been aware of since my Burnley days when he was at Accrington.

"Technically he is a very good player but he is an out-and-out winner, I'm delighted to have him on board."
