Tann becomes third Histon signing

Adam Tann

Histon have made former Cambridge United defender Adam Tann their third summer capture.

Tann was without a club having been released by Notts County and has signed a one-year deal.

The 27-year-old told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I wanted to join a club who are looking to be successful and move in the right direction.

"They may be part-time and in the Conference, but I feel they are on the up and I want to be part of that."

Tann started his career with Cambridge United, before spells with Leyton Orient and Notts County.

With Patrick Ada and Mat Mitchel-King having left the club, Histon were in the market for an extra defender and Tann is looking forward to playing alongside Stutes stalwart Matt Langston in the back four.

"Matt is a quality centre-half, quite capable of playing in the League, there's no question about that," he said.

"It's a great set-up and it's great to be back playing as I didn't play as much last season as I wanted to."

Meanwhile, the Stutes have opted not to sign fellow former U's trialist Shane Tudor.

Tudor, 27, is attempting to resurrect his career at non-league level after retiring from League football.

However, former Boston striker Kieron Leabon is set to be offered terms following his trial spell.
