Riordan pledges to the Hibs crest

Hibernian striker Derek Riordan

Striker Derek Riordan has said the Hibernian badge is the only one he'll ever kiss, referring his gesture after scoring against Aberdeen in the SPL.

The Easter Road favourite returned from Celtic in the summer transfer window and has now netted three times for the Edinburgh club in as many games.

"I always kiss the Hibs badge, I'm a fan so I wouldn't kiss any other," Riordan told the Hibs website.

"It shows I feel this is where I belong and the move back is working out well."

Riordan became the first Hibs players to score a winning goal away to Aberdeen since he netted against the Dons in October 2005, and is now looking forward to the Edinburgh Derby after the international break.

"We look forward to the big games and obviously the derby is the biggest one for us in the season, so I can't wait for that one," said Riordan.

"With a few Hibernian supporters in our side there is no doubt we will be up for this one - but we are always up for every game."

The 25-year-old has also set his sights on earning a call-up for George Burley's Scotland squad and adding to the one cap he won in Austria more than three years ago.

"It is a bonus to be involved with Scotland and I just want to be playing well at Hibs until that chance comes along," said Riordan.

"If it does come along then obviously I have to take it."
