Hearts' Elliot joins Livi on loan

Hearts striker Calum Elliot

Livingston have signed Calum Elliot on loan from Hearts.

The 22-year-old striker, who had been wanted by Inverness Caley Thistle and MK Dons, will remain with the First Division club until January.

Elliot had been frozen out of the first-team squad since the arrival of new Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo.

Laszlo suggested that Elliot needed to go out on loan but return to Tynecastle to fight for his place after gaining regular first-team football.

Elliot travelled to England for talks with MK Dons manager Roberto Di Matteo in July.

And Inverness had been tracking Elliot all summer.

"At the moment, I am very, very satisfied. I am unhappy about a lot of things but not dissatisfied"

The Scotland Under-21 forward came through the youth ranks at Hearts before making his debut in September 2004.

He had a loan spell with Motherwell during the 2006/07 season and has been in and out of the Hearts side since returning to club.

Elliot has scored 10 goals in 77 appearances for Hearts, including two against Inverness last season.

Meanwhile, Laszlo says he is delighted with the progress being made at the club since he took the reins six weeks ago.

Despite reports of cracks already showing in his relationship with controversial club owner Vladimir Romanov, he is adamant he has no problems with the Russian-born banker.

"I am so happy with my team at the moment," he said. "They understand what I need and what I like.

"It's always the same. If you go everywhere, to England, America, Scotland, it is the same. The most important thing is to have a good relationship with the owner.

"At the moment, I am very, very satisfied. I am unhappy about a lot of things but not dissatisfied.

"I don't like to talk about only sunshine here. This is not true. I am very straight, I like to have honest people who tell me if they have a problem.

"But before we talk about a lot of wrong things, there are good things.

"Heart of Midlothian at the moment makes very positive news. We have the youngest squad, a lot of young players from the academy, we don't make big transfers, instead we make transfers that are focused on quality."
