Hamilton Accies' James McCarthy admits he harbours ambitions to play in England's Premier League one day.
However, the 17-year-old is happy to continue playing at New Douglas Park for the time being.
"It would be great to go down and play in the Premiership but it's still a long time away," he told BBC Scotland.
"I'm just really happy to be here for at least another season then I'll see what happens. Hopefully I'll have a good season."
McCarthy turned down the chance to join Liverpool last summer and has since extended his contract with at Hamilton until 2011.
More recently, the teenager has been linked with a move to Italian side Palermo.
"It's great just being linked with clubs like that but I'm doing a job for Hamilton," he added.
With the new SPL fixtures having been announced, McCarthy is eagerly anticipating his side's opening match at home to Dundee United.
"I'm really looking forward to playing, especially at home and on the new grass," he said.
"It'll be a great fixture to get involved in. Hopefully we can get the three points but it'll be a very hard game.
"I think we're a good side. We like to get the ball down and pass it about and I think the SPL will suit us.
"It'll be a lot harder but we're all looking forward to it.
"We've got a lot of great youngsters like James McArthur, Tony Stevenson, James Gibson and Brian Easton and there's a lot of experience in our team with the likes of Mark McLaughlin and Alex Neil.
"We've got a good club and a good chairman looking after us."
Meanwhile, defender Brian Easton insists survival is Hamilton's primary goal for the coming season.
"It's got to be the main priority to stay up and to do it in a good manner," said the 20-year-old.
"We're going to try and prove ourselves because we know we're a good team. We know we've got the capabilities to stay up and do well."
