Tisdale 'philosophical' over loss

Paul Tisdale

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale was still proud of his side despite their crushing 6-1 defeat at home by Chesterfield on Tuesday night.

He told BBC Radio Devon: "I think you have to be philosophical and I am.

"It appears to be a very bad night for us and we made some mistakes but I have a real mixture of feelings.

"I'm very disappointed with the result, but very pleased at the way the players tried to play the game. They tried to play football right to the end."

"I'm looking forward to Saturday because [the Chester game] going to be a real test for us and I think we will come out stronger for this"

He added: "Tonight was a night when the mistakes became more mistakes and those mistakes promoted more mistakes again."

And Tisdale was full of praise for his side's opponents as well.

"We came up against a side that were very well drilled and had a real plan against us and we had one or two flaws in our game and they capitalised.

"But we made them look very good and we made ourselves look very bad and actually that's not the case, that's not a fair reflection of how we are at the moment."

And Tisdale hopes the Grecians will bounce back at home to Chester City on Saturday.

"I'm looking forward to Saturday because it's going to be a real test for us and I think we will come out stronger for this," he said.
