Everton manager David Moyes saluted his side after their win over Manchester City but urged them to remain focused on qualifying for the Champions League.
The Toffees won 2-0 to move fourth in the Premier League and Moyes said: "Our players showed their quality.
"It was a great performance - we had watched everybody else play first this weekend, which brings its own pressure.
"To get 50 points by this stage of the season is fantastic and we have to keep building on it."
Everton are now three points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool after an impressive display at Eastlands.
"We played really well," Moyes added. "We scored two good goals and we could have had another two or three.
"We tried hard in the second half but with our attacks they were able to break and still create chances"
"On top of that we had some good defending to make sure we didn't concede any.
"For us to take six points off City this season is really good - we are playing with a real desire but also maturity as well - which has come from our games in Europe and helped us.
"There is a belief we can get good results - and I certainly believe in the players."
But Moyes was unhappy at the failure of referee Rob Styles to award his side a penalty despite apparent handballs in the area by City defenders Micah Richards and Nedum Onuoha.
"I'm beginning to get a bit annoyed because we have not had one penalty kick in the Premier League this season," Moyes explained.
"In the first half, when Richards blocked a Tim Cahill shot with his arm I thought 'here we go again'."

Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson felt poor defending was to blame for his side's defeat.
"This was a real disappointment," Eriksson said.
"We did not play that badly and had a lot of possession without getting any penetration. But we conceded two easy goals, both at set pieces and that is too dangerous at this level.
"We tried hard in the second half but with our attacks they were able to break and still create chances. Of course Everton are a strong team, well organised and they defended very well.
"It was important that they scored first, in a game like this you don't expect too many chances.
"If we had we created something in the first half hour then maybe we would have had a different result."
