Dundee sign Gilhaney from Accies

Mark Gilhaney

Dundee have signed winger Mark Gilhaney on a two-year deal from First Division champions Hamilton Accies for a five-figure fee.

And Dundee chief executive Dave McKinnon hinted there could be more new faces at the club within the week.

The 23-year-old Gilhaney scored 10 goals in three seasons with Accies and is Dundee's third close-season signing.

He said: "I'm just happy to be here and I can't wait for the season to start so I can play for Dundee."

And the man who has turned down the chance of Scottish Premier League football next season with Hamilton says he believes he can win promotion with his new club.

"I met Dave McKinnon and Alex Rae last week and liked what they were saying about the plans here," he said.

"I know this means I'll be staying in the First Division. But, with the set-up at Dundee, I don't believe that'll be for much longer.

"Everything here is geared for the Premier League and that's where I'm aiming to go."

In addition to Gilhaney, the Dark Blues have signed striker Mickael Antoine-Curier, who had been on loan from Hibernian, and defender David Cowan, who had been on a short-term deal after leaving Gretna, on permanent contracts.

And defenders Eric Paton, presently with Queen of the South, and Craig McKeown, who will leave Clyde, have also signed pre-contract agreements.
