Dundee manager Alan Kernaghan says his friendship with the Hamilton boss Billy Reid will be left aside during Saturday's Scottish Cup clash.
The pair were together at Clyde, with Reid assisting Kernaghan as the First Division side pushed for promotion.
But that will be forgotten with a Scottish Cup semi-final place at stake at New Douglas Park on Saturday.
"Billy Reid is a pal of mine but that will go right out of the window when the game starts," Kernaghan insisted.
"We know how each other's teams play and I doubt there will be many surprises.
"Billy is a great spotter of talent and was a very lively guy around the dressing room. I spoke to him after the Airdrie game but I won't hear from him until this weekend.
"He had the chance of the Clyde job before I came but didn't want it. Once we had worked together for a while I knew he could do the job so when I left for Livi I talked to him about it and said he should give it a go.
"He finally took the plunge and did really well on a limited budget. He has continued that success at Hamilton, although hopefully the cup won't bring them any more after this weekend."
