Carcary signs for Sons from Raith
Derek Carcary has joined Dumbarton from Raith Rovers on a one-year contract.
Carcary, 21, a former Queen's Park and Rangers striker becomes Jim Chapman's first major recruit for next season's Third Division campaign.
The striker told Dumbarton's official website: "Everything about this club is positive and I'm looking forward to being a part of it.
"The gaffer really sold the ambition of Dumbarton to me when we met and I'm impressed with the set-up at the club."
Carcary won the CIS Insurance Cup Young Player of the First Round Award earlier in the season.
Dumbarton manager Jim Chapman confirmed that more signings will be completed over the next few weeks but welcomed Carcary to the club.
"I'm delighted to have him - I think he has been impressed with the set up here and why not?" said the manager.
"We are a club with ambition.
"We have a few irons in the fire and I'm hopeful of more good news soon."
